Prepping is always fun.  I had to figure out how to take the car apart without breaking things.  But thanks to BMW2002FAQ (the best forum for 02s) I was able to keep the damage to a minimum.  It’s hard to keep 35 year old parts from falling apart.

Adjustable camber plates with 2.5 degrees negative camber

Coilover,275#, 2.5′ springs, shortened strut towers with Bilstein Sport Rabbit inserts

15mm/15mm offset roll spacers

Late e21 hubs with vented rotors, Volvo Girling brake calipers, Hawk HPS brake pads, SS brake lines, E28 master cylinder

15×6 et12 OZ Aplina Replicas w/ 195/50-R15 Kumho Ecsta AST

IE 22mm Hollow Sway bar, IE tii Strut Brace, Urethane bushings

Rear Suspension:

Camber/toe adjusters

Coil height adjusters, 275# , 5″ springs with Bilstein Sport Shocks

Stock rear drums, SS brake lines

15×6 et12 OZ Aplina Replicas w/ 195/50-R15 Kumho Ecsta AST

IE 22mm Hollow Sway bar, Urethane bushings

Engine:

M20 2.7 ETA bottom end/”i” 885 head, reground 325i camshaft, fully balanced, crank polished, ports were cleaned up and the chambers were polished, three-angle valve grind, new valve seals, new rod/main bearings, used SETA pistons fitted with new rings.

Drivetrain:

Euro 323i 4 speed, 3.45 open differential, Redline fluids, Z3 shifter, ZHP Shift Knob

Ignition/Intake:

Megasquirt II, EDIS ignition, Innovate LC1, 19# Bosch injectors, Cone filter CAI

Exhaust/Exterior:

2.5″ exhaust, resonator, straight through Magnaflow muffler, Euro Bumper

Interior:

Recaro Ortho Powered (currently mismatched – but I have more fabric), Odyssey PC680 mounted under rear seat, e36 Handbrake

I plan to make more modifications as time and $$ becomes available.  Here’s short list:

Rear VW disc brakes

Turbo flares, airdam, and duck tail spoiler and new blue paint

BMW 16″ style 5 wheels

Rear LED Tailights

3.64 LSD

Rear seat delete

Rewire MSII and clean up engine bay

325i Oil Cooler

Getting ready to head out in run group AA

Traded in the GSXR for another BMW 2002. This one is for the track – autox and roadcourse.

Work on the GSXR? Shore? BottleRocket? Epic? Giant? I think I will pull out the Giant and start the single speed conversion.
